About the Program
Our demo site program exists to connect with other specialty coffee roasters that are committed to a high standard of quality and who are passionate about moving innovation forward in coffee. If approved into our program Sovda will give a generous discount on our equipment in exchange for your candid feedback, exposure on social media, and willingness to have others come to see the equipment in use at your facilities.
We are planning to open 20 demonstration sites across the world in 2022. Join the family along with Mark Michaelson (Onyx), Björn Aarts (Dutch Barista) and Tim Wendelboe to name a few…

Meet our Demo Site Partners
Onyx Coffee Lab was among the first to join our demo site program early 2019. They have a Pearl Mini at their roasting headquarters in Rogers, Arkansas. Mark Michaelson, head roaster and 2017 U.S. Roasters Champion, raves about the improvement in workflow felt by the entire Onyx team, barista all the way up to the owners, and now sleeps better at night knowing he can rely on the Pearl Mini to help achieve a quality consistent cup of coffee, every time.
Torch Coffee Company in Pu’er, China has been the world headquarters for R&D for SŌVDA since 2017. Torch Coffee are pioneers in innovation and technology for all things coffee from farm to brew. This demo site, in collaboration with Curate Coffee Collective, showcases our Pearl Mini, Lift, and Precision Fill in a state of the art roasting facility.
Dutch Barista, founded by Björn Aarts, is a highly respected dutch cafe and roaster located in Maastricht Netherlands that strives to deliver a taste of perfection in every roast. Joining our demo site partner program in 2018, Björn highly recommends the Pearl Mini color sorter to any serious roaster who wants to achieve a higher level quality control. Visiting this demo site you’ll see our Pearl Mini and our new Precision Lift (04/2020) in action at their on-site roasting facilities.
Anchorhead Coffee, located in Seattle Washington, is a fast growing sexy brand in specialty coffee with three locations in Seattle and neighboring cities. With coffee production increasing, hand sorting quickly became too overwhelming for their roastmaster. Since September 2019, a Pearl Mini and Lift are operating within their production line to increase efficiency and improve workflow for their team!
Black & White Coffee Roasters was founded in 2017 by U.S. Barista Champions, Lem Butler and Kyle Ramage. Black & White joined the Sovda demo site program in 2019 with the installation of the Pearl Mini Color Sorter and Destoner Lift at their Raleigh, North Carolina location. Later in 2021, Black & White added a Precision Fill and another Lift to automate their packing line. Integrating color sorting into their production line has helped Black & White achieve its goal to:

Emirati Coffee opened its roaster in 2017 in Dubai and has now two coffee shops. The founder's grandfather started importing coffee back in the 1930's. Today Emirati Coffee's mission is to make specialty coffee accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone. They decided to integrate the Pearl Mini into their operation to decrease the workload of their team and ensure higher consistency and quality. Visiting this demo site you will see our Pearl Mini in action.
